The human uterus is a major female reproductive organ essential to the continuity of the human species, and also plays an important role on infant and maternal mortality and morbidity and women’s health.
HUTER is the first project that focus on the transcriptomic, genomic and spatial changes of the uterus at single cell level throughout the menstrual cycle and across lifespan. The gained knowledge will contribute to better understand the human uterus and move forward its clinical translation in reproductive medicine, obstetrics, gynecology and regenerative medicine.
The Human Cell Atlas (HCA) Project is an international collaborative effort that aims to define all human cell types in terms of distinctive molecular profiles (such as gene expression profiles) and to connect this information with classical cellular descriptions (such as location and morphology). An open comprehensive reference map of the molecular state of cells in healthy human tissues would propel the systematic study of physiological states, developmental trajectories, regulatory circuitry and interactions of cells, and provide a framework for understanding cellular dysregulation in human disease.

Prof Carlos Simón, HUTER Project Coordinator, presented the final outcomes from the project during the plenary session of the third day of the Human Cell Atlas 2022 General Meeting held in Vienna, Austria, from 27th -29th June in a hybrid format. Prof. Carlos Simón presented the final outcomes of the project at the Plenary Session 6- Results of the EU Horizon 2020 Pilot Projects.
6 European Consortia unify efforts with the Human Cell Atlas to communicate their research Date: June 30th 2022 Six pilot actions funded by the European Commission continue their aligned and launch the second Cluster Communication Newsletter together with the Human Cell Atlas initiative (HCA). The Newsletter gathers a series of news articles and interviews, recent publications, and collected information on relevant upcoming events to inform you about the progress of the cluster.

The INCLIVA Health Research Institute, of the Clinical Hospital of Valencia, has hosted the final meeting of the European project HUTER (Human Uterus Cell Atlas), funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program with the aim of creating the map cell from the human uterus and in which entities from the United Kingdom, Sweden, Estonia and Spain participate.
